Rex Ogbakpa (NGA) is 1 game behind at 5-1 +742, on a 5-game winning streak, #6 rising from #7. Nsikan Solomon Etim (NGA) is +697, on a 5-game winning streak, #7 climbing from #8. Anthony Ikolo (NGA) is +624, #8 falling from #4. Elie Dangoor (Eng) is +459, on a 4-game winning streak, remaining unchanged at #9. Bright Idahosa (NGA) is +433, on a 5-game winning streak, hovering at #10.

In Class B: Raymond Gbaraba (NGA) is the lead, 4-2 -2. Solomon Lephoto (ZAF) is 0.5 games behind at 3.5-2.5 +55, #18 leaping up from #24. Ralph Owusu (GHA) is 1 game behind the leader at 3-3 -4, #21 rising from #29. Ashley Willenberg (ZAF) is -114, #23 falling from #19. Gerald Davids (ZAF) is -181, #24 down from #23. Gary Birch (ZAF) is -198, on a 3-game losing streak, #25 falling from #21. Fern Wheelwright (ZAF) is -332, #27 jumping up from #32.

High Win: Dave Wiegand (USA) 663-239 vs. Llewellin Jegels (ZAF). Low Win: Denise Le Bron (ZAF) 381-370 vs. Mary Botha (ZAF). High Loss: Susan Ensor (AUS) 453-487 vs. Debbe Hossy (ZAF). Low Loss: Llewellin Jegels (ZAF) 239-663 vs. Dave Wiegand (USA).

Chrys Placca (GHA) played SQUIZ (119) vs Kay Faust (USA) - too bad there's no prize for high non-bingo.

At Board 1: Raymond Gbaraba (NGA) vs. Dylan Early (ZAF). Things go well for Dylan early on: Raymond opens 8e WAUR (14), giving Dylan non-bingo double-double e5 KEYWORD (72) keeping U. Dylan keeps the pressure on with SEIGNEUR (63) natural, then LAcTONES (74) putting him up by 94 points more than halfway through the game. Raymond then bingoes ACORNeD, Dylan loses a turn to a four-letter phoney, but is still up 20 points in a winnable situation but loses 5 points to a bad challenge and 12 points in a misplayed endgame in what ended up a 16-point loss. It's tough playing with the eyes of the world on you.

Time for a brief tea break.
