Round 27 Auto-Commentary

Nigel Richards (NZL) remains in the lead for the 21st consecutive round, 24-3 +3047, on a 5-game winning streak. Dave Wiegand (USA) is 3 games behind at 21-6 +2366, steady at #2 for 10 rounds. Rex Ogbakpa (NGA) is 4.5 games behind the leader at 19.5-7.5 +1812, on a 3-game winning streak, still at #3 for 3 rounds.

In Class B: Duncan Keet (ZAF) is the lead, 13.5-13.5 +263. Gerald Davids (ZAF) is 0.5 games behind at 13-14 +292, unchanged at #30. Gary Birch (ZAF) is -104, hovering at #32 for 4 rounds. Andrew Goldberg (ZAF) is 2 games behind the leader at 11.5-15.5 -173, #33 rising from #34.

High Win: Solomon Lephoto (ZAF) 540-260 vs. Kay Faust (USA). Low Win: Gary Birch (ZAF) 312-273 vs. Susan Ensor (AUS). High Loss: Zubeida Brey (ZAF) 452-462 vs. Mpakaboari Jack (NGA). Low Loss: Kay Faust (USA) 260-540 vs. Solomon Lephoto (ZAF).

It's the last round of day three, and players are starting to get a little tired; endurance is becoming a stronger factor in performance. At Board 1, Nigel Richards (NZL) is playing Dylan Early (ZAF), opens with KNEEL; Dylan exchanges six of his seven consonants; Nigel draws IORRT to EH and has THORNIER (94). Dylan's first scoring play is EX (55), but Nigel replies from ?ILRTTZ with RITZ (45), drawing the other blank, then uses it on his next turn to taunt Dylan with QaT (26). Quackle would have had him exchange four from ?LQTTV, but says QaT isn't that much worse, and it's more fun.
