Round 29 Auto-Commentary

Nigel Richards (NZL) stays in the lead for the 23rd consecutive round, 25-4 +3019. Dave Wiegand (USA) is 3 games behind at 22-7 +2646, remaining unchanged at #2 for 12 rounds. Rex Ogbakpa (NGA) is 4.5 games behind the leader at 20.5-8.5 +1816, unchanged at #3 for 5 rounds. David Eldar (AUS) is +860, still at #4 for 5 rounds.

In Class B: Duncan Keet (ZAF) is the lead for the 3rd consecutive round, 15.5-13.5 +361, on a 3-game winning streak. Gerald Davids (ZAF) is 1.5 games behind at 14-15 +319, #30 sliding from #29. Gary Birch (ZAF) is -114, steady at #32 for 6 rounds. Andrew Goldberg (ZAF) is 3 games behind the leader at 12.5-16.5 -35, remaining steady at #33 for 3 rounds.

High Win: Fern Wheelwright (ZAF) 581-338 vs. Mpakaboari Jack (NGA). Low Win: Denise Le Bron (ZAF) 403-348 vs. Zubeida Brey (ZAF). High Loss: Dave Wiegand (USA) 421-494 vs. Phillip Edwin-Mugisha (UGA). Low Loss: Sheba Bagg (ZAF) 245-496 vs. Chrys Placca (GHA).

Piotr Andronowski (Sco) played Nigel Richards (NZL) at Board 1, in which he took the lead from the beginning, and never let go, thanks in part to getting both blanks, but despite a series of otherwise terrible racks. In addition to his two bingoes (ANTACIDS and IDOLISTs), he scored well with OOZiER (77) and FIQUE (81), as well as HAVEOUR double-doubled for 52. Nigel played TRENDIES and RELATIONS (through R and A), but went down 508-388.

Time for the morning tea break.
