The usual government minister was unfortunately unable to award prizes for us due to the impending election; Nicky Vella-Laurenti (MLT) filled in, thanking everyone present for their participation and posing with prizewinners.

In the second division, Pauline Cilia (MLT) was surprised to learn that she had won the rating prize, and had to be called back in. Sammy Mangion (MLT) finished third 15-9 +730; Daniel Milton (USA) had his best finish second 16-8 +1174; Mario Seychell (MLT) won the division 18-6 +580.

In the open division, Charles Micallef (MLT) won the rating prize, and the four-player Scottish team swept the top four places. Honourable mention for finishing in fourth place to Vincent Boyle (Sco); prize money and plaques for 3rd place Helen Gipson (Sco), 2nd place Simon Gillam (Sco) and 1st place Allan Simmons (Sco).

Thank you all for following along this far. We have two days off for sightseeing, informal play, and sitting in the poolside cave bar, before competition resumes with the European Open on Thursday afternoon.
