Open Division

I am both streaming video for Board 1 this round, and posting a playable game.

As I write this, both players have a blank, and Allan Simmons (Sco) leads Helen Gipson (Sco) 339-338.

In an exciting game that saw the lead switch back and forth nine times, with three bingoes apiece, Simmons replies to Gipson's last one (FREEMAN) with his outplay (CORKIEST) for a 453-418 win and the title. Simmons is Gibsonized and will face Keiichiro Hirai (JPN) in the penultimate round.

Second Division

Mario Seychell (MLT) beats Josephine Mayo (MLT) 427-398; Sammy Mangion (MLT) and Josephine Mayo (MLT) both lose giving Seychell an insurmountable 4-game lead with two rounds to go. Seychell too will be Gibsonized, leaving Mangion, Mayo, Daniel Milton (USA) and Gila Blits (ISR), all on 14-8, to contend for second and third.
