SCTI 2013 Commentary: Before the Tournament

We began the opening ceremony with greetings from Marek Palenik, the Resident Manager of the andel's Hotel, and Marek Kukrle, vice-mayor of Prague 5.

I (John Chew) then thanked the players, directors Wilma Vialle and Amy Byrne, annotators Alec and Yvonne, longtime WSC organizer Philip Nelkon, WESPA, and MSI. I told players that our numbers were short by one this week because a player was in a local hospital, and asked them to sign a get-well card. Wilma and I then went over the rules and regulations of the tournament, before getting the tournament off to a start 15 minutes ahead of schedule.
