Play begins at 09:42 MET (GMT+1h) at the first of three events in this year's MISO: a one-day nine-game early bird.

14 players in the upper division are competing for €400 in prizes; another 24 players in the lower division are contending for €200. We have six countries represented at this event — Australia, England, Ireland, Israel, Malta and Scotland — and a range of players from 2017-rated Austin Shin (Eng) to first-time WESPA event player Kevin Pirotta (MLT).

We are playing to WESPA version 2 rules, with 5-point per-word penalties, adjudicating Collins Scrabble Words (2012 edition) using the freshly released NASPA Zyzzyva version 3.0.4.
