Round 27 Auto-Commentary

Nigel Richards (NZL) remains in the lead for the 8th consecutive round, 22-5 +2148. Worasit Suksansumran (THA) is 3 games behind at 19-8 +536, remaining steady at #2 for 5 rounds. Panupol Sujjayakorn (THA) is 3.5 games behind the leader at 18.5-8.5 +1486, #3 improving from #4.

In Class S: Bob Jackman (AUS) is the lead for the 3rd consecutive round, 17-10 +834. Karen Richards (AUS) is 3 games behind at 14-13 +525, #25 falling from #22. Tony Sim (SGP) is +519, #26 rising from #30. Ron Baginski (AUS) is -489, #37 jumping down from #29. Jin Chor Tan (MYS) is 4 games behind the leader at 13-14 +289, #39 jumping down from #31. Paul Richards (AUS) is -264, #44 up from #47. Rodney Talbot (AUS) is -340, on a 3-game losing streak, #45 sliding from #42.

High Win: Komol Panyasophonlert (THA) 557-314 vs. Weera Saengsit (THA). Low Win: Sanmi Odelana (NGA) 363-344 vs. Arun Methaset (THA). High Loss: Ron Baginski (AUS) 428-536 vs. Tony Sim (SGP). Low Loss: Somphong Phosai (THA) 296-435 vs. Sanjoy Gupta (IND).

The first result in this round is the key 436-375 win by Panupol Sujjayakorn (THA) over Jakkrit Klaphajone (THA). Jakkrit's loss leaves certainty that Nigel Richards (NZL) will play in the finals, as he now has a 2.5-game lead over third-place Panupol even before his game with Worasit Suksansumran (THA) finishes. I consider interrupting the Nigel-Worasit game at Board 1 to Gibsonize Nigel, but think better of it.

In the finals it will be Nigel vs. either Panupol (70%) or Worasit (30%).
